Education Belief
All children are unique individuals with different focuses, experiences, dispositions, and learning capacities. I will embrace these differences and as the facilitator for learning, provide a variety of motivating and challenging lessons that incorporate the individual learning styles, capacities, and modalities of the children. I believe it is my responsibility to demonstrate confidence in every child's ability to learn, and to be a positive, optimistic, encouraging, and a nurturing role model for children.
Children need a well-balanced curriculum with an abundance of literature, and an effective enthusiastic teacher who encourages independent thought and sets high expectations in an environment that promotes learning, minimizes behavior problems, and creates a safe place to grow and develop. Therefore, I will be committed to: professional development, providing procedures, motivation, ongoing assessment of learning and teaching, and providing the assurance that with hard work and determination anything can be accomplished.
It is my desire to be a teacher who helps build self-esteem, promotes parental involvement, connects learning to students' prior experiences, instills pride in oneself and the community, and most important, makes a difference in at least one significant life.
